DAVISON TWP. – Police said there is an ongoing investigation into the shooting death of a 20-year-old Davison man at Windsor Place Apartments, July 3.
Chief Jay Rendon of the Davison Township Police Department said he is unable to release the name of the deceased man pending the outcome of an investigation.
Rendon said the investigation thus far has determined the man, who lived in Windsor Place, inadvertently walked into the wrong apartment at about 2:30 a.m. and was shot by the occupant. The door was unlocked, he said.
The man lived in an apartment in the next corridor over.
No one has been arrested or charged in the shooting, but Rendon said he could not release further details at this time.
He did add this is a case where the individual who shot the man is known to police and there is no threat to the community. – G.G.
