GRAND BLANC — Jesse Frasure, Grand Blanc High School Class of 1999 graduate, was named songwriter of the year at this year’s BMI Country Awards, marking his second time receiving the honor (he previously won the same award in 2018).

Frasure co-wrote five of the year’s most-performed songs, including “Almost Maybes,” “Hole in the Bottle,” “One Big Country Song,” “One Thing Right” and “What’s Your Country Song.”

After graduating from Grand Blanc High School, Frasure attended Michigan State University and transferred to Belmont University in Nashville to study music management.

He began his music career working at Major Bob Music in Nashville, eventually rising to vice president of A&R and also signing a publishing and production deal with the company.

In June 2016, Roc Nation Nashville and Warner/Chappell Music launched Rhythm House with Frasure as general manager. Rhythm House includes Frasure’s own writing and production activities, as well as the signing and development of other composers and producers.

Frasure has written and/or collaborated on 18 number one hit songs with various artists including Thomas Rhett, Miranda Lambert, Old Dominion, Kylie Minogue, Lauren Alaina, Florida Georgia Line and Jon Pardi, just to name a few.

Frasure also has a podcast on Apple Radio called “Little Bit Country Radio”.
