Davison defeated Carman- Ainsworth 8-0 in the semifinal.

Lapeer’s season also came to an end on Friday in the district semifinal after getting shut out 8-0 by Grand Blanc, the only ranked team in the district, sitting at No. 4.

In the district openers last Tuesday, Grand Blanc defeated Flushing 4-0 and Davison beat Swartz Creek 3-2 in overtime.

“I am proud of the girls on a solid overall year,” said Davison coach Rob Nuckolls, who took over the girls’ soccer program this season. “The girls improved greatly over the course of the season. We ended up making it to the District Finals were we lost to the most talented team I’ve seen in high school soccer in the last 20 years in Grand Blanc. They are loaded with seven or eight Division 1 commits on their roster. We are returning many starters and I am expecting an even better year in 2019.”

The Bobcats moved on to face Hartland in the regional semifinal on Tuesday at Rochester Hills Stoney Creek. The winner will play either Rochester Adams or Waterford Mott for the regional title on Thursday. – K.R./L.P.
