DAVISON — Mike Wright, chief of the Davison-Richfield Area Fire Department, has announced he will retire in September.

Wright’s announcement came at the last Davison Fire Authority Board meeting and comes on the heels of last month’s retirement of Assistant Fire Chief William “Skip” Davis.

The board appointed longtime Davison firefighter James Bratton to be the probationary assistant fire chief, replacing Davis, at the last fire board meeting.

Wright said he will have been with the department for 47 years on Sept. 17, which he is tentatively planning on as his last day on the job.

The Fire Authority Board’s personnel committee could not be reached for comment on what process it would use to find a replacement for Wright.
