Plant a flower on Mother’s Day

DAVISON TWP. — The Davison Farmers Market will be exploding with spring color this May 12, in celebration of Mother’s Day. “Vendors will have their booths filled with several choices of special gifts for moms,” said Market Manager, Sandy Coykendall. Kids can come out between 2-4 p.m. and plant a FREE flower for that special mom or grandma. Then take mom out for lunch at one of the in house eateries.

Market Place Café Opens

DAVISON TWP. — Davison Farmers Market is proud to announce the Grand Opening of the Market Place Café. The Café will be open for breakfast and lunch Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, from 8 a.m.–5 p.m. Market Place Café is managed by the Redwood Restaurant Management and owned by Belsay Enterprises, Inc. The family owned business will specialize in a wide array of breakfast and deli sandwiches.

The Market Place Café officially opened on May 1 at the Davison Farmers Market. “We are proud to be part of such an exciting market,” states owner, John Fick. Thunder for Hunger returning

DAVISON — Outreach East’s Annual Thunder for Hunger Poker Run & Rock Out Hunger Party will be June 2 at the Davison Eagles Aerie 3589, 3270 N. State Rd.

The event starts with breakfast 8-11 a.m. Car show registration starts at 10 a.m. with the show from noon-3 p.m. There will be a cornhole tournament from 2-5 p.m. and from 7-10 p.m. Sign up online at www.outreacheast.org.

There will also be laser tag from 2-8 p.m.

The Thunder for Hunger Ride Poker Run starts at 1 p.m. with registration at 11 a.m. at the Davison Eagles. All vehicles are welcome – motorcycles, cars and so forth.

Purchase a wristband for $10 to participate in the Thunder for Hunger Ride Poker Run which includes admission to the Rock Out Hunger Party, which starts at 5 p.m. There will also be cash prizes, door prizes, a 50/50 raffle and a silent and live auction. Live Bands include Ross Meade, Forte’, Enjoy Now and Jon Fett Quarter.

Proceeds benefit Outreach East Food Pantry to assist area residents in need. — G.G.
