Pancake Breakfast during M-15 Garage Sale

Women’s Rights Advocate speaking to Michigan Feminists April 13-14

FLINT – Gilda Yazzie is coming to Michigan to advocate for women’s equality, to increase awareness of issues that impact women, and to motivate people to act to bring about sex and gender equality.

Vice President Yazzie will be the featured speaker at the annual Michigan NOW conference on April 14. The conference theme is: Can You Hear Us NOW! The Power of Women United. The conference will be held at Eastern Michigan University. Yazzie will also be speaking to a group at the main branch of the Flint Public Library on April 13. This program is not sponsored by the Flint Public Library.

Gardening classes at St. Dunstan’s Church

DAVISON TWP. — Sower of Seeds Community Garden at St. Dunstan’s Episcopal Church, 1523 N. Oak Rd., will hold garden classes at the church on May 5, 12 and 19 at 9: 30 a.m. Bring your garden questions and explore solutions. These classes are free and open to the public. Knights of Columbus to hold comedy dinner

DAVISON TWP. — The Knights of Columbus, 8428 Davison Rd., will hold a comedy dinner benefit for Knights of Columbus 4th Degree Ardon F. Dubie, April 21. Doors open at 5 p.m. with dinner served from 6-7:30 p.m. Dinner includes choice of prime rib or chicken, beer, wine and setups. There will be dancing from 9 p.m. until midnight. Wine gala for cerebral palsy, May 4

FLINT — Ireland’s Dream will be hosting the first annual Green Ties for the Dream wine gala and silent auction on May 4 at the University of Michigan-Flint’s Northbank Center. The event will feature wine-tasting, craft beer and cider and a large spread of hors d'oeuvres. Guest can also bid for artwork created by local artists and listen to music performed by a string quartet and Irish dance troupe. All proceeds go toward funding Ireland’s Dream, a non-profit dedicated to providing treatment for children with cerebral palsy.
