Richfield and Davison townships pass along water hikes

DAVISON AREA — The Richfield Township and Davison Township boards of trustees approved resolutions March 12 to increase commercial and residential water rates by $1 a month in both communities. The rate increase will begin in April and is intended to pay for an additional water line that had to be built for the distribution system on Potter Road.

Genesee County Water and Waste says this should be the last increase until 2020.

The Richfield board also approved a $100 fee schedule that applies to solar panel permits. Supervisor Joe Madore said the fee will cover the township’s cost of paperwork, inspections and permit-processing related to solar panel construction. — G.G.
