Scott Shelton will soon become the newest team member in the Commercial Sales division at Jim Riehl’s Friendly Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM in Lapeer. LAPEER — At Jim Riehl’s Friendly Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM in Lapeer, the staff members have devoted themselves to helping and serving customers to the best of their ability. In keeping with their commitment to helping their customers as best they can, the team is excited to announce that service advisor Scott Shelton will be moving to a new department, where he will help round out the commercial sales team.

Having started at Friendly in February of 2016, Shelton, 38, of Davison, has proven himself to be an asset to the team and will begin his new path next Monday, Aug. 14 with team members Lionel Guerra and manager Tim Wilcox.

During his stint with the service team, Shelton has honed his skills in regards to dealing with customers on a daily basis, seeing and interacting with at least 30-40 customers per day. He also believes his experience in service will help him in the new division with devising and implementing maintenance plans for the commercial vehicles.

“I think the service department was great, and it’s a great stepping stone, because now that I’m heading to sales, I have a much better grasp of the maintenance needed for these vehicles, which will definitely benefit our customers,” said Shelton.

Commercial business is one of Friendly’s specialties, with an extensive line of built-for-work vehicles, On The Job allowances, and the keep-you-on-theroad to-profitability, with specialized service and sales expertise to prove it. Whether it’s a Ram truck or a commercial van, a Chrysler sedan or a Jeep, their staff is there to help you select the right vehicle and programs to meet your unique business needs.

“I’m still not sure exactly what my day-to-day is going to look like yet, but I do know that I’ll be doing a lot of road running, because it’s not every day that someone is walking through our doors looking for a commercial vehicle,” said Shelton. “So I’ll be visiting a lot of plumbers and electricians and contractors, hoping to outfit them with some of our box trucks, flatbeds, cranes, and all that kind of stuff. I’ll be hitting a lot of different businesses and building clientele, and I’m really excited about that.”

Shelton says he always wanted to be involved in farming and agriculture growing up and says this is a great way for him to learn more about the agricultural industry while getting to know his customers.
