Photo by Alex Petrie GRAND BLANC— After opening Rebekah’s Pure Living in Lapeer in 2009, which proved to be an extremely successful venture into the business of healthy and holistic foods and supplements, Rebekah Niman has opened another location in Grand Blanc. The new business, which opened just over a month ago, has already proven to be a welcome addition to the local market.

Niman, a holistic health practitioner who lives in Lapeer, saw not only a need, but a robust demand for her healthy and well-rounded preventative supplements and food options in the Grand Blanc area. Thus, Rebekah’s Health and Nutrition Source was born.

Niman began her foray into the health food and supplement business by selling healing products on eBay nearly a decade ago. Her passion for holistic care began when her son was diagnosed with autism at the age of 7, and she immediately began researching alternative methods to help treat him. According to Niman, after years of natural treatment, her son is now thriving and just recently finished up his school year at the University of Michigan.

“I realized there was a big gap between traditional medicine and individuals actually taking responsibility for their own health,” she explained. “I really think that our health is our responsibility. So, what we offer is complementary or prevention healthcare, also called alternative healthcare, at Rebekah’s.”

Rebekah’s Health and Nutrition Source carries hundreds of products, with a wide-ranging selection of heart healthy and cholesterol supplements, essential oils, vitamins and dietary supplements, as well as organic meat, eggs, honey and much more.

The staff members at Rebekah’s, three of which are wellness coaches or consultants, are well-trained to help find the right options for each of their customers. “Our wellness coaches and consultants help to separate us from other health food stores,” said Niman. “They have knowledge of health prevention and how to heal ourselves, reverse disease, and are very knowledgeable in all of our products.”

“Grand Blanc has been so accommodating and empowering with our store, and we’re so grateful for such a warm welcome to the community,” she said. “We’re so excited to bring good health to the Grand Blanc area and watch people take responsibility for their own health.”
