Wellness Expo this weekend in Davison

DAVISON — Staying healthy can sometimes be a challenge, but the Davison Downtown Development Authority has teamed up with Hurley Hospital, Hurley Wellness and Health Alliance Plan of Michigan to bring the 4th Annual Wellness EXPO to town to make things just a little easier for the community.

The expo will be held Saturday (March 12) from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 208 E. Fourth St.

New and informative vendors will be there this year offering healthy and fun ideas for the whole family. Try making a smoothie riding a bike, take classes or start a career in healthcare, therapy services and clinics, wellness care, learn about community service clubs, get involved with Relay for Life, learn about nutritional products, eat healthier, Immunizations from the Genesee County Health Department are available, looking for a new doctor, pet care, healthier homes and much more all in one location.

“It’s fun, educational and informational,” said Diane Millington, events coordinator for the DDA.

Play some scavenger hunt games to register for door prizes. Admission is free.

Millington said thanks to the expo’s major sponsors Hurley Medical Center/Wellness Services & Health Alliance Plan – HAP, other sponsors include CORA Rehab Clinics, Swartz Ambulance Service, McLaren Therapy Services and Dunckel Veterinary.

Vendors expected to be at the event are: CORA Rehabilitation Clinic, Swartz Ambulance, McLaren Therapy Services, Oxford Bank, Dunckel Veterinary Hospital, Friends of Davison Parks, Comfort Keepers, Mid-Michigan Therapy Dogs, Senior Living Resources, Young Living Essential Oils, Cornerstone Compass, It Works, the Disability Network, Scentsy, MSU Extension, Wildtree, Usborne Books, Wildtree, Kroger, Western and Southern Health & Life Insurance, the YMCA, Genesee County Health Department, E-Z Awareness , Heavenly Poems, Watkins, C&L Wards, Life Vantage, American Cancer/ Relay for Life, Energy Xchange, Rain International/Nutritional Supplements, Achieve Home Health Care, Merit Health Care, Farm Bureau Insurance Davison Graves-Noyce Agency, For- Mar, Ross Medical Education, Curves, Retro Foam of Michigan, Health Quest Chiropractic, Crim Fitness Foundation, Soulful Hearing, Pink Zebra Products and Davison Community Schools.

Millington said the Genesee County Health Deptartment will be providing immunizations, Kroger will feature their Kids Fresh Friends program, USBORNE will have Children’s books focusing on food and how it’s grown, Crim Fitness will have applications for Tour de Crim & Crim races plus information about youth programs, YMCA camp, Lymphatic Education, DCER and Ross Medical classes, Pet Health from several vendors, MSU Blender Bike making smoothies, along with Hurley Wellness and Health Alliance Plan.
