DAVISON — Get ready for a good time “Down on Main Street” when the Cruis’n Flag City car cruise returns for the summer of 2015, May 29.

Kicking off the season at 6 p.m., the Motorcycles and Low Riders are back at the Cruise, beginning with a motorcycle procession from City Hall at 5:45 p.m. led by the Car of the Year and Bike of the Year.

Homer Wilhelm of Flushing earned “Car of the Week” honors on July 25, 2014 with his 1958 white Cadillac, Series 62.

Joe Brinn, of Oscoda, took Bike of the Week honors July 18, 2014 with his 2005 Harley Davidson Ultra Vietnam Tribute.

Brinn is a Vietnam veteran and his Harley is a tribute to his time in Vietnam. Every inch of his bike is airbrushed with his personal photos. Even the seat of the bike is etched with photos.

“It’s a beautiful, one-of-a-kind bike,” said Diane Millington, events coordinator for the Davison Downtown Development Authority, organizers of the car cruise.

The winners were picked from last year’s weekly winners.

The Blessing of the Cars and Bikes, a Memorial to our lost Cruiser’s from last year, Flag raising and singing of the National Anthem by Cynthia Risch will follow.

Cynthia is a local singer that has auditioned for The Voice and American Idol. After the ceremony the motorcycles will continue on and park their rides.

“We’ve planned many special events throughout the summer with dance contests, special vehicle clubs and even an Elvis Look-A-Like contest,” said Millington. “Everyone is invited to come and enjoy the excitement in Downtown Davison on Main Street, where hometown matters!”
