While fraught with numerous perils, the Lady Cardinals have still found a way to run this gauntlet to near perfection, winning nine in a row. Most recently, this meant traveling to Flint Northern for a conference matchup on Tuesday that Davison dominated, 52-23. Having grabbed a 10-7 lead at the end of the first, the Lady Cards outscored Northern, 18-6, in the second to take a 28-13 lead at the break. The avalanche continued from there as Davison got the better of Northern, 14-4 in the third, and, 10-6 in the fourth.

Mariah Ferris was one of the Lady Cards’ key components with a teamhigh 16 points, eight rebounds and five assists, Kolbie Brow scored 14 with five assists and coming through with four points apiece were Brooke Graham, Tori Bellamy and Theresa Dray. Hayley Gabriel and Leela Leach also got in on the action for Davison with three points each and scoring two apiece were Morgan Hitchcock and Alex Downing.

Saginaw Arthur Hill was determined to use the home-court to its advantage when Davison paid them a visit last Friday for a SVL-South contest. Those intentions quickly got cast aside after the Lady Cardinals worked their way to a 16-4 lead in the first quarter, before outscoring their hosts, 20-9 in the second, on their way to a 62-28 victory.

Brow was one of two Lady Cardinals to post a double-digit scoring performance with 16 points, 10 assists and seven rebounds, Ferris had 12 points, two boards and scoring nine with three rebounds was Leach. Davison also got five points each from Dray, Bellamy and Gabriel with a combined 16 boards, scoring three with six assists and a rebound was Hitchcock and Downing had one point, six boards and an assist.

Davison, 9-2 overall, host Flushing for a conference matchup on Friday and on Tuesday Flint Metro League rival Fenton is at Davison.
