Police end search for teen after he is found
Boy reportedly in good health after going missing for more than 48 hours
DAVISON TWP. — Authorities in the Davison area have called off the search for a missing 13-year-old boy who ran away from home, Jan. 7.
Stephen Foster, 13, a student at Davison Middle School, was found the evening of Jan. 9, in good health, said Chief Rick Freeman of the Davison Township Police Department.
Freeman refused to comment further on the missing youth who had police and civilian resources tied up the better part of 48 hours.
“Following standard protocol involving runaways, added to the ongoing investigation in this event, here will be no further comment on the details of this incident at this time,” said Freeman.
Officials said Foster was last seen at his residence on Lapeer Road between 5:30-6 a.m. Monday.
Friends and family used social networking like Facebook to spread the word about his disappearance. One published report of his disappearance said he was found staying at his grandmother’s house in Goodrich, though police would not confirm this.
Freeman thanked Genesee County law enforcement agencies who helped with the search and citizens who spent a “significant amount of time and resources in searching for Foster.”
