DAVISON TWP. — Authorities in the Davison area are asking residents to be on the lookout for a missing 13-year-old boy who may have run away from home, Monday (Jan. 7).
Stephen Foster, 13, a student at Davison Middle School, has been missing since early Monday morning, said Det./Lt. Christi Markwardt of the Davison Township Police Department.
Officials report Foster was last seen at his residence on Lapeer Road wearing a red jacket underneath a blue hoodie before he ran away from home between 5:30-6 a.m. Monday. He is reported to be about 5-foot, 3-inches tall and weighs 110 pounds.
Friends and family have used social networking like Facebook to spread the word about his disappearance.
A group of citizens gathered late Monday night in the Jack Abernathy Regional Park and searched the area for any sign of the missing teen.
“This is a group of good Samaritans,” said a man at the scene. “Law enforcement is not involved.”
Markwardt said police were involved Tuesday (Jan. 8) morning, however.
“We have all of our resources on this,” she said. “We want to bring this child home safely.”
Anyone with information is asked to call 810-653-5656.
