Stephen Button secured a third-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle, while Mellissa McDougall and Michael Spears took first and second, respectively, in the 200 IM.

David Rohrbeck picked up a third-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle, and Spears posted a first-place finish in the 100-yard fly. Button finished second in the 500-yard freestyle, while Mick Schwerin took a second place finish in the 100-yard freestyle, not to mention his victory in the 100-yard backstroke. Rohrbeck continued to contribute as well, finishing second in the 100- yard breaststroke.

“I have a team of 15 swimmers competing against schools that are combined with others having 45 swimmers and we are winning most events,” said coach Jennifer Redumski. “Our losses are not due to lack of effort or talent; it is all about numbers.”

Despite the lack of numbers, the Cards are grinding and improving their times each time out.

“ These swimmers are extremely dedicated and Stephen Button dropped 24 seconds in the 500 and Zach Vaughan dropped nine seconds. These guys have been pushed to their limits and have continued to improve every meet,” continued Redumski.

“Davison is a young group of kids. We have not one senior on this team. My team consists of mostly freshmen and are doing a wonderful job. This team’s potential is awesome and I am very excited to see fast swims at County this weekend.”
