DAVISON — The Davison High School Winter Guard brought home silver medals following the 2010 Michigan Color Guard Circuit (MCGC) state championship held March 27.

The Winter Guard competed in the Class AAA division. The state competition was held at Saginaw Valley State University.

The second place finish was a good ending to a great year of competitions, which included two third-place and four first-place finishes. The latest first place wins occurred on back-to-back days. On March 20, the Davison Guard took first honors in their class at a competition in Grand Blanc and then again on March 21 at a contest hosted by Milford.

Guard members are Kip Andrews, Samantha Bratton, Bailey Bruyere, Rachel Brzezniak, Emily Denike, Lacey Earley, Jamal Epperson, Sierra Payne, Emily Smith, Hannah Warner, Kristen Williams, Coach Angela Psaros and Assistant Coach Cheryl Minto. They would like to thank the many people who supported the team this season whether it was financially, with props, as chaperones, sewing flags and backdrops or volunteering. — G.G.
