Pee Wee Sports Camp on the horizon

DAVISON — The six-week camp introduces children to the fundamentals of a variety of sports, such as T-ball, soccer and basketball. A great way to experiment with different sports, open to kids ages 4-6. Cost: $45. Camp runs at Hahn Gym, Saturdays, April 24-May 29, 11-11:45 a.m. — L.P.

Calling all men’s softball players

Power the kids through Karate

DAVISON — The 8-week class is offered to elementary students who want to learn the basics of Karate. Master Lyle will focus on balance, strength training, stretching, discipline, listening & motor skills. Cost: $40. Class takes place at Hill Elementary and is instructed by PKSA Karate Club. Tee up the youngsters

DAVISON — The three-session instructional program will be run by a PGA trained professional, Kevin Morgan, Golf Pro at Copper Ridge Golf Course. The program will include lessons on grip, stance, set- up, full swing, chipping, putting, specialty shots, rules and etiquette. Class is geared for kids ages 7 and up. Basic soccer skills sessions

DAVISON — This six-week class is for kids who want to learn the beginning skills of soccer that will be taught through fun, age appropriate games. IMA Junior Golf set to start

BURTON — An instructional junior golf academy will run June 23-Aug. 11 at the IMA Brookwood Golf Course. Cost: $95 per student. Academy is run by PGA Teaching Pro Joe Simpson. Class runs for one hour on Wednesdays. Fee includes instruction, hat, sleeve of balls, celebration tournament, awards and banquet. — L.P.

Ryan Schlee soccer tourney returns

GRAND BLANC — The 16th annual Ryan Schlee 3-on-3 soccer tournament returns to the Rick Hartker Soccer Complex on Maple Road in Grand Blanc. The tournament draws teams from across Michigan and out-of-state. Sponsored by the Grand Blanc Community Schools Soccer Parents, the tournament will run Saturday, July 24.

The event was created in memory of Ryan Schlee, a Grand Blanc grad and varsity soccer player, who was killed shortly after graduation in a car accident. The tournament awards two $500 scholarships to one boy and one girl player at Grand Blanc, and also helps support the purchase of equipment, field rentals and more.
