DAVISON TWP. — A plaque meant to honor a man who had done so much for his community was left sitting in a box at the end of a township board meeting where he was to be recognized for his contributions.

The Board of Trustees would have honored Bob Adorjan for his more than 20 years of service on the Davison Township Planning Commission at its meeting Jan. 11, but officials there got the news earlier in the day that Adorjan, 80, had died suddenly that morning.

“It’s safe to say, and the board all feels strongly, that Bob had a hand in shaping this township to be what it is today and what it will be in the future,” said Supervisor Kurt Soper. “He was a long time supporter of Davison Township. We’ve lost a real credit to this community.”

Treasurer Pat Miller said the plaque will be presented to a member of Adorjan’s family sometime in the near future.
