DTV moves to Channel 99 on Charter Cablevision
DAVISON -- Davison High School’s student operated television station, DTV, has moved to Channel 99 on Charter Cable.
Channel 99 is included in Charter’s introductory level of basic service, which means that every video customer will continue to get DTV at no additional cost.
DTV, which has been located on Channel 19, is moving to Channel 99 because the cable company is adding a number of channels and is rearranging its lineup, according to Charter officials.
Charter customers with digital equipment will also be able to view DTV. Charter officials indicated that DTV would air on a channel between 991 and 997 for customers who have digital TV or a digital converter box from Charter.
DTV is a public education channel that airs athletic events, student-produced daily announcements, a community billboard of events and the monthly news show, The District. Students also produce special programming including a homecoming pregame show and prom “red carpet” coverage.
DTV has earned national recognition as one of the country’s best high school news programs. The National Scholastic Press Association awarded DTV with its Pacemaker Award last year.
DTV was also recognized last year by the Michigan Association of Broadcasters for “Best Newscast” in the state and by the Michigan Interscholastic Press Association. MIPA awarded DTV its presti-
