Barbara Jean Crafts of Davison died peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at home, two days after her 80th birthday. Barbara was born in Davison on May 24, 1929 to Ella Alice May Skinner and Earl John Alexander. She married Russell Hugh Crafts in Angola, Indiana on January 13, 1950.
She graduated from Davison High School with the Class of 1948. Barbara retired as the clerk of the Genesee County 67th District Court in Davison in 1989 after more than 25 years of service. She lived her entire life in Davison.
Barbara is survived by Russell, her husband of 59 years; son, Bruce Craig (Margaret) Crafts; daughter, Beth Renee (Phil) Scarbrough of Marne; grandchildren, Stacy Crafts, Renee Laug and Gary Laug; great-grandchildren, Trenton, Gavin, Kendall, Kyleigh, Aiyana, and Eavan; niece, Paula Alexander (Bob Allen) of Owosso; nephew, Jeff Jones (Teri Adams-Jones) of Modesto, CA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Ella Alexander; brothers, Bruce and Herman Alexander; sister Alice Alexander Jones Arambel; nephew Dan Jones.
Memorials are suggested to Hospice of Genesee County or the American Lung Association.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, May 30, 2009 at Hansen Funeral Home. Paula Alexander officiated. Barbara has been cremated.
Elizabeth Josephine Gagnon “Betty”, 74, of Davison died Monday, June 1, 2009 at Genesys Regional Medical Center. Elizabeth was born in Rapid City, South Dakota on June 13, 1934 to Everett and Verda (Jensen) Lane. She was joined in marriage to Gerald Gagnon on December 21, 1956 at St. John Church.
She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Davison, a member of St. John Choir and Altar Society. She resided in the Davison area most of her life.
She is survived by her children; Shirley Cassleman, Greg (Sheila) Gagnon, Sharyl (John) Erickson, Sue (Tom) Lesnock, Chris (Duane) Conrad, Tony Gagnon, Andy (Kelly) Gagnon, and Sara Widman; fourteen grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother, George Lane and soul-mate Fran; sister Pamela (Neal) Kiefer; and many other relatives and close friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Everett and Verda Lane; grandson, Scott Erickson; brother, James Lane; sister, Kathleen Kessler.
Those desiring to make contribution can make them to St. John Building Fund.
Family will receive visitors from 1-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Hansen Funeral Home. A parish scripture service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday. Betty will lie in state at the church from 12:30 p.m. Friday until time of services. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m. Friday, June 6, 2009 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Fr. Andrew Czajkowski officiating. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery.

Mary Theresa McMillan, 90, of Davison died Sunday, May 24, 2009. Mary was born in Flint on May 27, 1918 to Frank and Julia (Gadanyi) Takacs. She was joined in marriage to Herbert McMillan on February 9, 1946.
Mary was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church of Burton and St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church of Davison. Mary had been employed by General Motors AC Spark Plug Division and Davison Community Schools. She spent most of her life in the Davison area.
She is survived by children, Mike McMillan, Julie (Bruce) Bolden, Herbert Jr. (MaryJo) McMillan, M. Chris Wendt, Timothy (Kathy) McMillan, Robert McMillan, and Mark (Cindi) McMillan; Eleven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother, Frank Takacs.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Frand and Julia Takacs; husband, Herbert McMillan.

A funeral service was held Friday, May 29, 2009 at the Hansen Funeral Home Groves Chapel, Downtown Davison. Fr. Andrew Czajkowski officiated. Burial was in Flint Memorial Park.
John R. Madison “Jack”, 84, of Davison passed away Thursday, May 28, 2009 at Genesys Health Park. Jack was born in Flint, MI on December 27, 1924 to Clyde and Anna (Waterfall) Madison. He married Dorreen Palmer on April 2, 1949.
Jack attended First Wesleyan Church, American Legion Post # 267, Davison VFW Post # 4087, Eagles of Flint, and UAW local # 651. He retired from AC Spark Plug Division in 1987 and was the head bartender at the Russellville Ballroom for 15 years.
Jack is survived by his wife of 60 years, Dorreen; children, Yvonne Cargill, Elaine Madison, Brenda (Chris) Wedow; 5 grand children; 3 great-grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; a step-great-grandchild; sisters, Norma ( Carl) McLeod, Shirley (Pete) Secord; sisters-in-law, Pauline Madison, Helen Madison; many nieces and nephews; long time friend and Army buddy, Frank Blue.
He was preceded in death by parents, Clyde and Anna Waterfall; sisters Verna Merrill, Gladys Russell; brothers, Bruce and R. William Madison.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Flint First Wesleyan Church or the American Heart Association. The family would like to give a special thank you to the Staff of Genesys Health Park Surgical ICU.
A funeral service was held on June 1, 2009 at Allen Funeral Home, Davison. Pastor Don Hodgson officiated. Burial with military graveside honors under the auspices of American Legion Post # 267 was in Richfield Union Cemetery.
