Stanford J. Adams Sr.

Stanford J. Adams Sr., 84, of Breckenridge and formerly of Davison, died Friday, Aug. 24, 2007 at the Gratiot Medical Center in Alma. Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 28 at the Lux and Whiting Funeral Chapel in Breckenridge. Internment will be in Ridgelawn Cemetery.

Mr. Adams was born Feb. 7, 1923 in Flint to John and Laura (Charboneau) Adams. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Pacific arena, where he earned a Purple Heart. He married Marjorie Rogers on Dec. 5, 1951 in Angola, Ind.

He was a member of the Midland VFW, Midland DAV and the Breckenridge American Legion Post 295. He enjoyed bowling, cards, slots, traveling and collecting eagles.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Albert, Arthur, Leroy, Donald, Harold; sisters, Arlene Shuster and Betty Ash.

Survivors include: his wife, Marjorie; children, Nancy (Jay) Demspey of Perry, James Beach of Arizona, Deborah Bradshaw, Stanford J. (Teresa) Adams Jr., Albert Adams, Denise (Mike) Wade, all of Breckenridge, David Adams and Alan (Jackie) Adams, both of Bremerton, Wash.; 23 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sister, Doris Hiller; brothers, Herbert (Mary) Adams, Garnet (Carolyn) Adams; and many nieces and nephews.
